LITTLE DO WE KNOW

We put God in our pocket
We pretend to know it all
We create our own happiness
And pray to the treasures we’ve found

We could save all our best prayers
For the tough parts to come
But when we’re old and all alone
The words are already gone

Oh child, Little do we know, right.
We’ve been living the dream, but these dreams only last for one night
So don’t hold on too tight

We’ve built a new Babel
We rise to the sky
Oh but who could see the insecurity
Of the souls hidden inside?

Oh child, Little do we know, right.
We’ve been living the dream, but these dreams only last for one night

We’re billions of people, trying on our own
Puffing up our ego in a God shaped hole
But what if we need God after all?

We put God in our pocket
We pretend to know it all
